Hair Weave Information

The term 'tracks' comes from the common, long-lasting method of integrating wefts, known as the 'track and sew' method. The 'tracks' are usually cornrows, braided in the direction of how the hair will fall. Toward the face or away, with or without a part, the tracks build the foundation of how the end result will look. The wefts are then sewn onto the braids, usually with a specially made, blunt-ended needle. The needle can be curved or straight. There are many different colors of specially-made thread to choose from, depending on what color of hair you will be integrating. Darker hair lends to darker thread. It should also be noted that when the hair is braided at a high level of tension, the client is at risk for traction alopecia.

Invisible Hair Weave is a long lasting method of attaching commercial hair to the natural hair. Application generally takes about an hour. It will last about 8 weeks.

Wefts may also be bonded directly to the clients hair using special bonding glue. Care must be taken not to bond the wefts directly to the scalp, as it can cause sensitivities in some clients. A patch test is frequently recommended, as per manufacturer's directions.

Infrequently, wefts may be clipped in, with specially made clips sewn to the wefts themselves. This makes for a more temporary style, and is easily removed. Clipped-in wefts may add temporary color, length or fullness perhaps for a single event, such as a prom or wedding.

Bulk hair can also be bonded to the hair, using many different methods, from clips to adhesive.

Welcome to Wigs ‘N’ Weave

I just want to add some background about myself. I have over 20 years experience with hair extensions, weaving, wigs and falls. I want to start this blog to be able to hand out some valuable information about tips, hints, and techniques that I have discovered or learned about from other professionals.

Hair Extensions and Tracks

Hair Extensions are a method of adding commercial hair to your hair. This method is used to conceal thinning or hair loss in concentrated areas as well as to add thickness, volume or length. ‘Tracks’ come from the common, long-lasting method of integrating wefts, known as the ‘track and sew’ method. The ‘tracks’ are usually braided in the direction of how the hair will fall. Toward the face or away, with or without a part, the tracks build the foundation of how the end result will look. The wefts can then be sewn onto cornrows, usually with a specially made, blunt-ended needle. The needle can be curved or straight. There are many different colors of specially-made thread to choose from, depending on what color of hair you will be integrating. With darker hair you would typically use darker thread. It should also be noted that when the hair is sewn in too tight, the client is at risk for hair loss that is the result of prolonged, tightly pulled hairstyles.

Invisible Hair Weave is a long lasting method of attaching commercial hair to your hair. Application generally takes about an hour. It will last about 8 weeks. Invisable hair weaving is a strand by strand method that allows very tiny pieces of hair to be attached directly at the root of your hair.

Wefts may also be bonded directly to the clients hair using special bonding glue. Care must be taken not to bond the wefts directly to the scalp, as it can cause sensitivities in some clients. A patch test is frequently recommended, as per manufacturer’s directions.

New Hair

Hi, my name is Josephine. I am a serious weave and wigs wearer. I love long hair. The problem is, when I go to the weave shops they often don’t have the style I’m looking for. So, I would just settle. Well, I was on the internet and looked at Sensual Hair Extensions website to view the selection. Oh, my, goodness! There are so many wigs and weaves to view. The only thing is that, I like instant gratification. But, I ended up ordering a human hair wig anyway. The name of the wig is Eve. I ordered the wig on a Friday night and received the wig on Wednesday morning by UPS. That was quicker than I thought. I get excited whenever I see the UPS truck stop at my house.

The quality and I mean quality was excellent. I love the highlights. They look so natural. Turns out, It was worth the price and the wait. I feel so beautiful. The hair is so soft and lite. You would never know I am wearing a wig. They have my business for life. I’ll just be sure to order in time before the holidays.
